Big change in railway time table and train number! Know the new information before traveling

Indian Railways has implemented its new time table from January 1, 2025. In this new time table, changes have been made in the timings, numbers and routes of many trains. This change has been made to increase the convenience of passengers and the efficiency of rail services. Vande Bharat trains and special trains introduced last year have also been included in the new time table.
Under this new time table, the number and timing of a total of 2,875 trains have been changed. These include express and passenger trains. The routes of many trains have been extended and the stoppages of some have been changed. The departure time of express trains has been changed from 5 minutes to 1 hour. Changes in Vande Bharat trains
Vande Bharat trains have been given special importance in the new time table. Several changes have been made in the timings and routes of these high-speed trains:
- 20887/20888 Ranchi-Varanasi-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express: Now this train will run 6 days a week except Thursday.
- 20893/20894 Tatanagar-Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express: The timing of this train has been changed to 6:10 am.
- 22345/22346 Patna – Ranchi Vande Bharat Express: Now this train will run 6 days a week except Friday.
- 22303/22304 Howrah-Gaya Vande Bharat Express: The route of this train has been changed from Howrah to Gaya.
Changes in express and mail trains
Timings and numbers of several major express and mail trains have also been changed:
- Rajdhani Express: Rajdhani Express from Delhi to Mumbai will now depart at 5:00 pm instead of 4:55 pm.
- Shatabdi Express: The timing of New Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express has been extended by 10 minutes.
- Duronto Express: Mumbai-Ahmedabad Duronto Express will now run at 11:15 pm instead of 11:00 pm.
Changes in Passenger and MEMU trains
Many changes have also been made in passenger and MEMU trains running for local passengers:
- 63297/63298 Jamalpur-Danapur MEMU: The number of this train has been changed to 63297/63298.
- 75213/75210 Raxaul-Muzaffarpur DEMU: The new number of this train will be 75213/75210.
- 63361/63362 Narkatiaganj-Gorakhpur MEMU: The route of this train has been changed from Narkatiaganj to Gorakhpur.
Extension of train routes
Routes of some trains have been extended to benefit more passengers:
- 18183/18184 Tata – Ara Express: This train is now extended to Buxar.
- 13287/13288 Rajendra Nagar – Durg Express: This train has been extended to Ara.
- 22165/22166 Singrauli-Bhopal Express: This train will now run three days a week.
Change in frequency of trains
Changes have also been made in the frequency of some trains:
- 14009/14010 Anand Vihar -Barauni Express: This train will now run three days a week.
- 22503/22504 Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Express: This train will now run daily.
- 18629/18630 Ranchi -New Delhi Express: This train has been increased from two days a week to three days a week.

- 14673/14674 Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express: The route of this train has been changed from Jaynagar to Amritsar.
Eastern Railway
- 12301/12302 Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express: The timing of this train has been extended by 10 minutes.
- 13019/13020 Howrah-Katihar Express: Now this train will run daily.
- 63565/63566 Jasidih-Jhajha MEMU: New number of this train will be 63565/63566.
Southern Railway
- 12163/12164 Chennai-Mumbai LTT Express: Timings of this train have been pushed back by 20 minutes.
- 16381/16382 Kanyakumari-Mumbai CST Express: Now this train will run three days a week.
- 06795/06796 Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore Special: This train has been converted to regular service.
Western Railway
- 12009/12010 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express: Timings of this train have been advanced by 5 minutes.
- 19119/19120 Ahmedabad-Somnath Intercity Express: Now this train will run daily.
- 69171/69172 Vadodara-Dahod MEMU: New number of this train will be 69171/69172.
