For making payment of arrears and earned leave amounting to Rs. 12,70,000, accountant Rajaram Gupta demanded 50% of the amount i.e. Rs. 6,20,000 as bribe and after taking Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 5,000 as security through cheque and Phone Pay in the bank account given by the accused, the remaining amount is being demanded.
Lokayukta Action:Â Despite the strict action being taken against corrupt government employees and officials, bribery is continuing fearlessly. Today, on the first day of the new year, the Lokayukta police has arrested one such bribe-taker who not only transferred the bribe amount on Phone Pay but also took an advance cheque. When the Lokayukta team caught him red-handed, the accused was taking Rs 50,000 in cash. The team also recovered a cheque of Rs 5 lakh 40 thousand from him.
After the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, DG Lokayukta Jaideep Prasad has instructed the department to remain in action mode all the time, the result of which is that for a long time, corrupt government employees and officers are being caught red-handed.
Accountant of BEO office demanded bribe Â
Rewa Lokayukta SP Yogeshwar Sharma, while giving information, said that Ram Nihor Saket, a resident of Chakra Bhati Mohalla, Ward No. 7, Mauganj Tehsil, Mauganj district, is a retired headmaster. He submitted a complaint application in the office in which there was a complaint against the accountant of the Block Education Officer’s office for demanding bribe.

The complainant said that for payment of his arrears and earned leave amounting to Rs 12,70,000, the accountant Rajaram Gupta demanded a bribe of 50% of the amount i.e. Rs 6,20,000 and after taking Rs 25,000 and Rs 5,000 as security through cheque and Phone Pay in the bank account given by the accused, the remaining amount is being demanded.

After receiving the complaint, SP Yogeshwar Sharma got the verification done and made a trap plan. As per the plan, today on the first day of the new year, the team of Lokayukta Rewa, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Praveen Singh Parihar, raided the BEO office. As soon as the complainant Ram Nihor Saket gave the bribe amount of Rs 50,000 to accountant Rajaram Gupta, the team arrested him red-handed.
