E-KYC is necessary
- Ration card: According to the new rule, now digital ration card will be used. Earlier, physical ration card was used but this will not happen from now on.
- All those who have ration cards must compulsorily get their e-KYC done.
- If the ration card holders do not get e-KYC done, then the government can cancel their ration cards.
Financial aid and changes in ration
- The ration card holder will be given a separate amount of Rs 1000 every month.
- The government has now made some changes in the quantity of wheat and rice and benefits will be given accordingly.
- Under the new quantity, every person will be given 5 kg of grains i.e. 3 kg of rice and 2 kg of wheat every month.
Eligibility conditions have now been changed
- Citizens living in cities will get ration card only if their annual income is up to Rs 300000.
- Ration card will be given to the citizens living in the village when their annual income is up to Rs 200000.
- People who have a house or plot larger than 100 square meters are considered ineligible for the ration card scheme.
- People who have four wheelers like car, tractor etc. will also not get the benefit of ration card scheme now.
