Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken an important decision in the interest of farmers at the beginning of his third term. He has signed the file to release the 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This decision will directly benefit about 9.5 crore farmers of the country.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmer families are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year. This amount is sent directly to the farmers’ bank accounts in three equal installments, of Rs 2,000 every four months. - The interest rate on this is 4% per annum
